Because he was 20 years old and we saw an opportunity to get him before the summer window.

He had a good few games but it was also in a period where we were still playing shite.

Since we went to Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol and O'Reilly the results massively improved, it was wrong it was changed today as none of the others should be getting a look in.

He'll get the CWC and the cups next season to prove himself, maybe get back in the side.
The results might have improved but we had a shit ton of luck in amongst them.

I think this is why Pep is playing so negatively now. He just can’t risk exposing the back line.

Why do some people not grasp the matchday squad limitations? We can name 20, just like every other club, if a side has more than 20 fit players, some will travel and not be named in the squad. There's absolutely nothing unique about that, it'd a regularly weekly occurrence in football. Khusanov is new, young and plays a position you don't typically need extensive bench options for, we had 3 cb's on the pitch there wasn't a need for an extra one on the bench ahead of more senior and more likely viable options.
Why buy him then if he can’t feature?

What sort of stupid planning is happening with squad
Because we don't always have a largely fit squad? As proven by the entire season so far. We filled up the squas to the numbers everybody else has after the hierarchy and Pep realised they dropped a massive bollock thinking they could get away with having a smaller squad.

Definitely been some luck but Nunes and O'Reilly have facilitated the results going forward, Gvardiol has been our best defender this season especially at centre half and then he and Dias have got something working, by hook or by crook.

I don't think that back 4 can be changed until the end of the season.

Next year I don't want to see Nunes and O'Reilly as starting full backs, the latter will play a huge role though, either helping there or in midfield.

I don't Khusanov can play full back though so he's fighting Gvardiol, Dias and probably 1 of Akanji/Ake/Stones for a spot next season.

Go and see Barcelona squad somehow this sub has become so stupid with age

Why a 20 year old can’t play?
Is pep only manager in world?
Multiple managers give chance to youth and play entertaining football but somehow Pep can’t do it ? Lol

It's Gvardiol by a country mile. Which means it's then Khusanov or Dias, Dias is always getting picked for his leadership.
I meant purely on form, of course, Gvardiol is world-class, generational talent, there is no arguing that.

Khusanov just had a sensational start, no way anyone could have expected this lad is going to win MOTM almost every time, win player of the month with a record vote, etc.

Honestly, I just thought we would play Gvardiol on the left more where he did have some impressive performances despite being less comfortable there. That would allow Khusanov to play more. He is not even getting on the bench, though, I just don't get it.

Nothing to do with age, he can't play full back, so that leaves him fighting for 2 positions.

So that leaves centre back and he isn't as good as Dias, Gvardiol, Akanji and even Ake and Stones when they're fit.

If Ake and Stones could stay fit then we wouldn't have even signed Khusanov and that's the honest truth.

It wasn't but my point was he shouldn't be getting a look in because nobody should.

That back 4 is the reason we're winning games, I love Pep but he was wrong to change it today.
Pep has set his stall.
He ain't going to play OReilly at LB, that's going to be Gvardiol again.
Its not the right decision in my mind but bringing O Reilly on as a sub and not sticking him at LB was a tell tale sign.
Most on here think Gvardiol should be the CB but it looks like Pep doesn't.

Does anybody know what’s happened to Khusanov?

And why Stones isn’t even mentioned anymore it’s like he’s disappeared off the face of the earth?

I think with Khuzanov its just a lingual issue.

He cannot communicate with any of the players and he cannot understand the instructions fully of the coaches and players.

Once that clicks he will be be fine.

its simple, he wont bench Dias, or Akanji now so Khusanov can start. once Ake back too, Khusanov will be an EDS player.

And next season will be same rinse and repeat . So frustrating to witness these decisions costing us

What is it costing us? Our defence is as stable as it ever has been this season in the past 6 weeks.

We’re playing slow, pragmatic football that up until today has won us a series of matches back to back.

The defence didn’t concede again today. Khusanov wouldn’t have made any difference to that.

Talk about building confidence and this player cones into a country he doesn’t know and can’t speak the language yet gets thrown into a team straight away and apart from a mad first 20 mins plays great even getting player of the month but makes a mistake against Bournemouth I think and then suddenly is cast aside and now can’t even make the bench . That lad must be sat there wondering what the fuck he has done wrong and thinking he should have stayed where he was .

Or maybe Pep has managed his expectations.
