I’m still absolutely baffled as to why he didn’t start last night, and even more so why a 33 year old who went off with cramp 3 days ago came on ahead of him!
We’ve got three big games coming up next week, what are the odds he starts any of them? Pretty slim I reckon.

To throw a 19 year old in to a particularly unfriendly environment when he has hardly been involved and expect him to contribute to the best of his abilities is unfair. As there is every chance he won't have a blinder and he'll be stuck on the bench for another 2 months - Also, Burnley are ****s they will try and kick him off the park and the ball will hardly be on the floor if they have their way
Much better to let him settle in with the team at home i.e 30mins V Chelsea, 90 mins V Shaktar then with a few solid displays then put him in away.
I agree that he should be selected for certain games (which is what Pep is probably thinking) but, from what I read on here that is so contradictory as he is ready now according to most views.
We are in agreement bud, I was simply pointing out that there are many who are adamant he should be starting every game, and then it leads to "he will be off soon if not selected etc" what has he got to do to get a game etc etcBurnley away is a horrible place to go and to expect a 19 year old to do the business when he's apparently not trusted at home against Shakhtar and other lesser teams seems a tad unfair.
Either way. He is ready from what I have seen he is ready and I expect him to be a first team regular by the time the season finishes
