I have always thought for the last 2 seasons that when Phil plays he brings the best out of Jesus, they seem to understand each others game. Plus Phil is always looking to go forward and get in the box, fir a young player he drives the team forward something that has been missing for quite a few games this season

What I noticed more than anything last night, was how many times Foden received a pass with his back to goal and his first move was to spin round and look for a forward pass.
I do get a little frustrated when a player (often Mahrez) halts a fast moving attack and passes the ball back into midfield.

Heh. Foden liking my tweet about playing him more...

Is it just me who thinks that isn't a good sign?

If he was all onboard and willingly compliant with this development plan Pep has for him, something which I'm sure he would talk about with the club regularly, would he do the same?

So if he does start more games from now on it won't be a case of 'City have managed him very well and this was the intended outcome' but 'why wasn't he starting games earlier?'

Fuck me, City can't win with some of you miserable bastards.
No, because it's obvious he would've made us better. Unless you think Gundo and David Silva have been playing well at his position?

I wouldn't read too much into it, Steve's been writing and making videos about Phil since he was 15. I'm sure Foden follows him on social media and just appreciates the support. If he's unhappy with his playing time, he's got other ways of expressing it or sending a message.

Just you , it means nothing.

Best game he has had for us so far IMO, he looked sharp hungry and some of his through passes were top drawer.

+1
Not quite a Messi-esque performance - but amazing nonetheless.

I wish that D. Silva would be with us next year - he's still top class for me - but... in Phoden, we have a (potentially) equal, or better replacement.

Yeah totally, get the concerns but @domalino is probably right! Phil's been following me on Twitter for a long time anyway, so it's also most likely just an appreciating the support kinda thing! Only reason I shared it was that thought it was relatively notably in this instance given he'd just had a good performance, but I don't for one second think it means he's unsettled. Just eager, which is no bad thing. I kinda like to see that he wants Pep to notice his good performances. Bit more fire and ego wouldn't be a bad thing I reckon.

Foden being genuinely 2-Footed is a great help in this regard..and tbf to mahrez playing as an inverted wide player, like sterling ..it's easy to look akward unbalanced and one footed at times.
If that makes sense..
