He is NEVER leaving, why are blues so worried about him when he is very happy where he is

He should though. He is happy as he's a City fan. Which is part of the problem. He's far too happy just sitting on the bench.

He's far too talented to be sat not playing nearly every week. He should be loaned abroad where he can play every week.

For all the talk Pep doesn't rate him good enough to play him, I don't think he will come through properly until Pep leaves, he is starting to suffer with lack of mins, however Bravo gets the mins and certainly isn't good enough.

This is the problem for me. He’s happy to play a carrier bag in net because it’s his mate, or a back 3 experiment in the derby with Cancelo as a hybrid left wing back/centre half/ left winger (fuck knows what), but can’t put a lad in who’s often looked our best midfielder when he’s played.

It’s not just last night, it’s generally speaking. If he’d not started last night but had played in the league or got more minutes then fair enough but Pep has taken a step back with him and he’s now only playing against lower league opposition.

We’ve now played Utd 5 times since the start of last season and Foden has played a grand total of 5 minutes across those matches.

Phil Foden is not as good a footballer as de Bruyne, Bernardo or David Silva.

Why should he be getting in ahead of any of them?

Fair enough, if it was Gundogan getting in attacking mid ahead of Foden, then maybe we could call for him to be getting in.

But he’s nowhere near as good as the other three so he’s bottom of the pile and shouldn’t be playing just because he’s from Stockport.

We just played one of the worst goalkeepers in our history and our third or fourth choice centre back in order to give them minutes. And, as much as I agree with you on Bernardo and keV being better choices right now, I'd also prefer to see Foden shunted out wide if it means not having to see Sterling for a couple of weeks.

he wouldn’t be playing just because he’s from Stockport. He’s be playing because he’s good enough and has more then enough talent to be in our side.

based on what your saying no young player will ever play for us. He’s not going to be as good right now as De Bruyne is he. What should he do, wait until he’s 27 and then he might be??

We have to have faith in him and give him the games to become the next David Silva. Otherwise how will he ever be good enough , sitting on the bench.

the fear of playing young players is bizarre and it’s just more excuses. Even when Gundogan and silva are so out of formm

The game was crying out for a player to take the game by the scruff of the neck and run at their centre backs , and with Phil being a local lad he would have been well up for it , just cannot understand some of Pep's decisions at the moment , he of all people must know what its like to play for you boyhood team against your arch rivals.

That's how developing youth works though - you have to play them up a level. They'll never be up to scratch and as good as experienced players if you don't give them a proper chance to get that experience.

May as well sell him then. He won't develop without playing. If Pep doesn't rate him then he shouldn't be in the squad and should be replaced.
