Phil Foden had played 371 minutes in the Premier League at the end of the 2018/19 season - more time in one of the big five European leagues than Kevin De Bruyne or David Silva did at the age of 19. [@21stClub via @TeleFootball]

Pep Guardiola intends to use Phil Foden as David Silva’s replacement next season with a source close to the Manchester City manager claiming he can become the club’s 'home-grown legend for the next 10 to 12 years'. [@JBurtTelegraph]

That first tweet is very disingenuous. In Foden's case he's not playing at all; KDB was a regular at 18 playing 40+ competitive games and Silva went on loan and was first team in the 2nd division. Ultimately they were developing by playing, Foden isn't.

I saw this as well, and to be frank, it's a garbage tweet. Belgium isn't a top five league, but by age 19 De Bruyne had played 3,900 minutes of senior football, and it's just straight up wrong about Silva. In his age 18 season he played 2,800 minutes for Eibar in the Segunda, and in his age 19 season he played 2,600 minutes for Celta Vigo in, you guessed it, La Liga.

I like your determination, but it looks like you are now grasping at straws a bit there Karen. You told us last season he would be playing regularly this season! But the fact is Pep simply still doesnt trust Foden enough to play him in a side that is struggling and has no hope of winning the PL this season. There is no substitute for game time.

According to kev himself he said last season that phil has more mins than he did at his age, phil is part of a huge club, champions of the prem and not a 2nd division team or wherever kev was,you can't make any comparison,it has also been shown phil has more mins than any of the class of 92 at his age

It's not enough but he is trying to get into a team ahead of world class players dripping in silverware

What did you expect him to say? Do you think anyone in our team would call out the manager on Fodens lack of pitch time.

As i keep repeating i said a couple of months ago it's his time to be playing now as dave is winding down, pep not trusting him is up for debate although it might be phil has not shown enough in training to get in ahead of the others, only pep knows that

And how is this intention being demonstrated, Karen?

I know you like to re-quote quotes but so many of them are either trite or bollox.

How Foden is supposed to replace Silva if he does not play? We are not going to replace Silva with inexperienced kid all of a sudden. City are the last club to take risk like that, everyone knows it.
