He showed some nice flashes tonight and got two assists, but he was no way near his fluid best.

You could see his frustration with team mates on a few occasions (none on his wavelength) and it led to him trying too much and giving the ball away.

Imagine he was loaned out somewhere? He'd be wasted and starved of getting the ball, particularly how he wants it and at the time he wants it.

Think Pep knew he would get minutes during int. break so thought it’s better he gets match fitness in these games rather than the PL. Can see Foden starting when the break ends.

I didn't watch the whole game, but he was clearly pissed off at one point late on, when he made a great run on the right and was completely free, only for the ball to go left, and be lost.

That was one of at least 4/5 occasions throughout the 90, and they were all similar situations.

He's too good for that level but he needs the minutes. I hope Pep decides to start playing him more now or he'll lose his sharpness. He's a threat out wide so he doesn't only have to be in competition with Silva, De Bruyne and Gundogan.

Actually thought Foden would get more games this season , but if you look at the way Merlin has started the season there is little chance of Foden starting at the moment , Merlin has turned the clock back ten years and is dominating games , maybe he will tire later in the season and Foden will get a few starts, but it looks like at present he will be relying on cup games and champs league dead rubbers if he wants to play 90 minutes.
