You have to take into consideration the standard of opposition , but none of our other attacking players shone , and yet Phil was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. He isnt potential anymore , its frightening but i think he will get better , ive watched football for longer than i care to remember and Foden is the best 20 year old i have seen in any colour shirt.

“But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son unto the world”

I know we shouldn’t, but it’s hard not to get a bit silly about how well he’s playing.

Needs to be first name on the sheet in lieu of KDB’s injury.
But do we need to be quite so silly?

My word, he obviously always had the potential to be world class, but he has rapidly transitioned from a squad member to an absolutely essential part of the starting line up this season.

Needs to play every game going forwards and we are very lucky to have him.

He’s just a joy to watch. I actually think when he plays in the prem he’s anxious to show his true quality as when you run at people it’s a risk and Pep doesn’t like that and he is usually the first one off when it doesn’t come off.

I don’t think think we will the best of him until Pep goes and considering how good he is under Pep that is a scary thought.

Could we have our 1st world class homegrown player on our hands ?
As Shearer and Lineker said the best English midfielder player in years.

He had a really quiet first half barring a couple bits of play with Mendy, but in the 2nd he was fantastic.

What I appreciated most was that when the going got tough, he really stood up tall. A couple of superb throughballs, some mazy runs (one insanely good one in particular), smart movement and just all round top quality football. Scored a very neat goal too, easier to miss than one would think.

Needs to work on his heading though. Although in fairness I could say that for every City player other than Aké, Laporte, and Rodri...

I think he needs a loan to a Championship team to toughen him up. It worked for Becks, so if we do that, one day he might be as good as Becks was
