I think the point is that they are not just stuck to one position. It is just a front 3, all interchanging, dropping in and out of positions. Like his Barca team of old e.g. Henry, Messi, Villa, Pedro and so forth. Torres, Foden, Sterling and Jesus is an exciting group of players that can play anywhere across the front line.

Foden himself though, world class. That fourth goal just truly capped it off.
This adaptability of the front 3 is so nice to see and is why seeing them play in any of the positions doesn't really bother me.

My post was more specific that the benefit to younger attacking players (like Foden and Torres) will learn more when they don't stick to one position. It could backfire of course, and maybe some players need to stick to one spot, but if they are truly intelligent footballers, it will make them grow faster.

The only downside today is that Southgate was there, so he’s unlikely to be getting a rest in March ;-)

It's normally very difficult not to get carried way when a young English talent shows this amount of promise. Throw him in a City shirt and it's nearly impossible!

Keep it up Phil, could end up surpassing greats for club and country if he carries on.

Of all players to score at least 10 goals within the top five European leagues (England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain) this season, only Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland (20 years 2021 days) is younger than Manchester City's Foden (20 years 255 days).

I guess the BBC meant 221 days for Haaland but, nevertheless, an impressive stat for a guy who isn't even a striker!
