It’s bizarre. He has been our best wide right player and was exceptional there after the restart. It’s like we’ve just forgotten that he was great there and gone back to Mahrez and even Bernardo before him.

We’ve got to find a spot for him because he brings energy, the ability to beat a man and pace. We’re a very slow team without him and Sterling.

Torres - Jesus - Foden

that's the best possible attacking trio we have right now..
At least we see some potential that will improve from time to time..

Looking at Mahrez for two years - I don't see any future there..
 
Phil is an easy touch and the Pep drops him because he is young and he will not rock the boat , Foden is a better player than Bernardo ,Mahrez,and Torres and yet they all started before him today, diabolical
 
I can kind of see see why he’s not starting.

He was fucking shit against Leicester Leeds and Porto. Just spend the entire time he was on the pitch in those games giving the ball away and running down blind alleys.

In normal times he would have shown he can’t be trusted yet.

The frustrating thing is, the state of the players getting in ahead of him are probably worse than his poor games.

It’s a conundrum of which shit performers to pick from at the moment.

Agree completely with this. His performances haven’t been good enough but the players ahead of him have put in far worse displays.

I get that but certain players are stinking the place out and never being dropped
 
He's still young, a bit inconsistent and a few years away from his peak but after the performance in midweek his confidence would have been sky high. So it is utterly baffling that he didn't start. It's almost like Pep feels he needs knocking down a peg or two. He is the future and needs to be backed to the hilt now, not just given 20 minutes here and there. Him, Cancelo and Torres are the only ones who seem to be on the save wavelength at the moment. All three need to start if we are to win anything this season.

He didn’t do anything when he came on , not sure he even touched the ball did he ?
He came on way too late to be any influence on the game, but not sure playing against a packed defence is his game anyway.

Well in that case he'll be of no use to us.
 
Foden needs to be given a position and responsibity in the team week in week out so he can learn that position he is young and has a lot to learn, but playing him left side , right side or a number ten every other week is just confusing the lad , give him a position and let him make that postition his own and we will see the best of him. After KDB he should be first on the team sheet , he is potentially that good.

Nobody, including Kev should be auto starters.
