The gulf of understanding between him and Grealish is like night and day

At LF or false 9. He is simply more active and intuitive. Checks into spaces quickly. Drops out with speed to receive short passes, and if the pass doesn't come, he darts quickly into the next open attacking position. Grealish on the other hand seemed mostly lost at false 9 and while he was better at LF, you could tell he was mostly relying on his talent.

Hopefully in a year, he'd understand the system better and be able to let his talent show within the system.

Right now Grealish looks like a big fish from a small pond struggling with the pace of the game in the big river. He is used to the game moving at his pace and through him.

He'll learn. But Foden is awesome.

He is so light footed. Really noticed how quickly he can move the ball and change direction with his feet.

His balance and agility are just incredible. He’ll have a shit pass pinged vaguely in his direction and just contort himself to bring it under control, then somehow instantly recover his posture from a stretch or a half-squat and just glide away with the ball

Named best young player of the season so far by both Carragher and Neville, but honestly I think it's been a disappointing season for Phil so far, partly due to availability. When he's played he's been productive but I can't imagine a non-English youngster getting so much praise for playing less than half the games. Goes to show the extent to which our media latch onto whoever is our best hope at the time, like when Rashford was coming through.

Oops.
