Phil must be biting his lip in training , when you see a donkey like Henderson get on the pitch before you then you know the manager simply doesnt rate you , he should see out the tournament and if hes doesnt get some starts , tell Waistcoat he doesnt want to be involved in anymore England squads while he is the manager , he would rather go fishing.

Henderson was a good sub, Bellingham was having an absolute nightmare and Henderson coming on immediately got England on top in possession.

The problem was that Kane was playing as a number 10 which left Mount doing nothing and that possession was worthless.

Staying on the bench was the best thing that could have happened to Phil, I don’t think he could have fixed anything because ultimately England’s problem is they have no striker. 0 shots for Kane across 2 games.

If the opposition are really poor at the back, Sterling, Saka, Rashford, Grealish and Foden etc will get chances in the box, but against a well coached back 4 they have no space.

And yet, in the knockout bit, he’ll play Walker as a right sided centre half..
And Maguire doesn’t play anywhere for his club……….
And Spain played Rodri at CH!
And, Mount doesn’t play in a 3 at Chelsea.
Safegate knew he fucked up royally, “he doesn’t play there for his club” was just an excuse to hide the fact he has favourites. The commentator said last night he spent 2 hours around Sir Marcus of the school dinner gaff in the summer…
Along with Maguire, Rice, Mount, Saka, Sterling, Kane & Pickford who are constants in his starting line up + Johnny Boulders when fit means the others are playing for the remaining 3 positions and 2 of them are at full back

Kane is basically pointless in a 4231, he likes to drop deep as a striker but there is already a 10 there.

He works well in any 3 up top formation as when he drops the wider players have freedom to come in, either in 343 that he likes at Tottenham or a 433.

England would probably have better luck using Rashford's pace as a striker (never ask him to drop deep), with Grealish and Saka on the wings and Foden operating behind Rashford.

I can’t stand Boregate and think Foden’s potential is almost limitless. However, the fact it’s even a debate and he’s not getting in that England team shows his progress has stagnated somewhat.

I don’t think that stands up against scrutiny when you put his seasons stats alongside the others vying for that position. Not withstanding the fact he’s just fucking better than them all.

Don’t disagree he’s better but he’s not been playing particularly well this season on the whole by his standards. Yes his stats are decent though

I only say because I’m in a bar and they’ve just put a side by side comparison in the tv with Foden and the other 4 who could claim that position and he’s still beating them all hands down even after a season where some think he’s not been that great.
