Doubt it will be a very popular opinion, but I think he needs to step it up a bit, seems to be stuck in the full of promise tag, IF and it a big IF bernardo goes then foden could be the one to replace him in that position , he has the pace he has the skills etc but he seems to be stagnating a little with his progress, really want to see him take a game by the scruff of the neck like we think he could, maybe if he played in a set position a bit more instead of moving positions every game we might see more from him

I think it depends on how Pep handles it going forward with Haaland. Prior to Haaland and often playing a False 9, that shot would be expected since it’s likely no one would have made the run Haaland did. It’s a learning process in my opinion.IF he was pulled off for shooting and not passing, fair enough. But Mahrez has done that numerous times in his City career and not been subbed, so it would be double standards from Pep.

I don't believe being regularly subbed at half time would keep any of them happyI wouldn't be surprised if we see that Grealish/Mahrez/Foden switch at half time fairly regularly this season. Keeps all three of them ticking over and fresh and happy. I'd be flabbergasted if it was a punishment sub. He's entitled to take on the shot, and if he misses he can get a bollocking from the other player. All part of the game, you don't get to play for City without having a bit of an ego.

I really think it can only be good for Foden if Grealish and Mahrez are in form and he has to properly compete with them for his place in the team. It's part of his maturing process.
