Maybe, Foden will be our new Cancelo as a "False LB" :D

Grealish will finally get decent overlapping left footed player on the left wing and it may make team more solid.

But.. there is one big BUT..

Why Phil has to adapt.. Last year he had to play False9 mostly, due to reason that club bought Jack. If we consider how good Phil was in 20 / 21 as a LW, he should have stayed there and continued..

This year now, there is a big chance he will play LB.. Of course learning process will make him stronger and more positions he learns, better will become, but it's interesting how Phil reacts to such kind of changes around him..

Will get pellets for this but don’t think he has kicked on anywhere near where we thought he would: by now he should be dominating games like silva did. The lad is far from the brightest and best behaved either and I think he is real danger of going right off the rails. In my opinion giving him a 5/6 year contact was a mistake. Done virtually nothing for nearly 3 months. Pep clearly not impressed. Hope I am wrong.

Partying too much?

I know he was an utter arsehole to a friend of my neice in a shop. I won't say what happened as there are some on here that get ultra defensive over some City players.

Hope he drops the hangers on and distances himself from some of his extended family and gets his act together.

some valid points but i think he`s one of the smartest in the squad

I get what your saying ,but I wish the silva comparisons would stop. He isn’t David silva and he never has been.

Giving him a long contract wasn’t a mistake either as he’s been brilliant for a few seasons now. Being off form for 3 months is nothing really and a dip in form is to be expected of a young player .

We signed Silva when he was 24, so unless you mean his penultimate season at Valencia then it's a bit of a harsh comparison.

He's a fool to himself if that is the problem and his talent gets wasted.

He needs a father figure at the club to tell him some home truths if necessary, but if he is ignoring Pep , then he is a fool .

I think he will be fine. Dip in form happens to everyone and it’s not a problem. The attitude is the issue. I suspect with the whole cancelo situation and pep not taking no crap from players a lot of the squad will
Get a wake up call. No one os bigger then the club and no one gets a free ride .. the past is the past and you shouldn’t be given a free ride for what you have achieved. Need to keep putting work in.

I hate to sound reductionist, but the issue is Southgate
I can’t stand Southgate’s tactics but you can’t blame him for Foden’s attitude and form. He wasn’t playing anywhere near his best long before the world cup(yes his numbers were decent). Southgate played him when it mattered and even subbed an inform Saka ahead of him in the France game.
