He played with guile, style and a smile last night in the 2nd half. Really stepped up and we've been lacking someone doing that in tight games recently. I don't think he's the heir to KDB long term, likes to drift in off the wing more, whereas KDB is very obviously and naturally a central player. I could be wrong, in fact I hope I am, but we do need king kev back as our locksmith. We then need to get someone to blood someone in who can handle more games than kev in that role.
Also need a gundo replacement big time. Hoping Nunes will improve but it seems like there is more weight of responsibility spread across our main creative midfielders right now. So far creatively everything has been dumped on Foden and Bernardo to pull the strings. Last year with a creative force of the 2 above plus Gundo and KDB meant we had crazy strength in depth.
Great we have KDB back, but we need a 4th creative CM to boost the depth. Nunes isn't quite able to do that yet and it maybe that we're banking on him improving rather than dipping into the market. Success this season could hinge on that small margin of him improving to the point of being able to make significant contributions. That and Rodri having someone to help out amongst other things!
