Superb Philip. Stepped up when it mattered, again.

Having a good season so far. No Haaland, no KdB, and this man is dragging us through.

Is he there yet?

Hope so, Pep's selections in the big games will show how Pep sees his development. In any case, KDB and Foden behind Haaland with Grealish/Doku and Bernardo on the wings looks tasty.

Completely ran the show second half when he dropped a little deeper. An absolute joy to watch

Soooooo very unlucky not to score when he rattled the post

Bluemoon Man of the Match:

League (before today MOTM 5 times from 11 starts)

Foden - Newcastle (h)
Foden - Fulham (h)
Foden - Forest (h)
Foden - Brighton (h)
Foden - Chelsea (a)

Champions League (MOTM 2 times from 4 starts)

Foden - Young Boys (h)
Foden - RB Leipzig

All that suggests he has been consistently good this year. And no other player comes close.

5 more league starts for Phil since I posted that. A further 2 MOTM performances from the 5 (Spurs h & Everton a) and a very good 2nd (Luton a) and still people are moaning.

Takes his league MOTM performances up to 7. Closest to him are Bernie with 3 and Doku with 2. No other player has more than 1.

I'm sick of the "he needs to step up" bollocks this season on Bluemoon and particularly on the match threads. To repeat, he has been consistently good this year and no other player comes close.

The guy called him Phil Frauden in the match day thread about 5 minutes before he got us back into the game

If I'd said something that stupid I'd have a week long self-enforced ban from this place.
He certainly seems to be not a fan of Phil's. Which is his choice, of course. The "Frauden" dig was a bit childish, but hey ho.

Back to Phil; he's been one of, if not the most consistent player for us this season.

It feels like foden is going to do something amazing this year and really grab the headlines.
I still feel this way.

There are City fans, stupid city fans , who believe the media silence on fodens talent means He hasn't got any.
He's the next Gascoigne for this country. The media can only ignore it so long.

Certainly he's better than fucking rashford and saka.

But the city fans who believe the city hating media really fucking bug me. I talked to one the other day, City fan, telling me we are state owned and that we do seem dodgy because of no smoke without fire. I'm fucked off with those part time fans who listen to our haters.

I need to stop its Christmas

He played with guile, style and a smile last night in the 2nd half. Really stepped up and we've been lacking someone doing that in tight games recently. I don't think he's the heir to KDB long term, likes to drift in off the wing more, whereas KDB is very obviously and naturally a central player. I could be wrong, in fact I hope I am, but we do need king kev back as our locksmith. We then need to get someone to blood someone in who can handle more games than kev in that role.

Also need a gundo replacement big time. Hoping Nunes will improve but it seems like there is more weight of responsibility spread across our main creative midfielders right now. So far creatively everything has been dumped on Foden and Bernardo to pull the strings. Last year with a creative force of the 2 above plus Gundo and KDB meant we had crazy strength in depth.

Great we have KDB back, but we need a 4th creative CM to boost the depth. Nunes isn't quite able to do that yet and it maybe that we're banking on him improving rather than dipping into the market. Success this season could hinge on that small margin of him improving to the point of being able to make significant contributions. That and Rodri having someone to help out amongst other things!
