Everyone has a conspiracy theory.. but here's one question I wanted answered..

Why have his passes/ assists to Erling stopped?

Watch the derby where they got a hat trick each.. what happened to that Phil Foden?

Something is really wrong with him and he is very far from a future ballon dor winner like a lot of people here said ,when he was 18. Needs to get back to his best or there is no place from him in our starting 11. Quite off his last year form.

Foden has regressed physically, mentally he doesn't look sharp either. I think he is depressed from the Euros. Was looking good in January, but he's back to being poor. Offers very little apart from attempts from outside of the box. Currently he looks a level below Savinho or Marmoush.

Many on here thought he was much better than Alvarez. Guess what, Alvarez is having a great season at Atleti, at least as good as Foden's last. 23 goals in all compets with 2-3 months to go...
Spanish league……….

Will actually be interesting to see how he plays for England - if he gets a game that is - and if there’s any difference to what he’s shown for us this year.

You couldn’t really say that when Southgate was in charge, given how clueless he was, but England have got a half decent manager now, so he might be able to get something out of him.

I can’t decide whether he needs an extended rest, or games to try to play himself back into form?

You and me both mate.

It’s been a season of nothingness. Insipid and half paced.

Maybe a change of scenery with England might do him some good - it’s about time we got something out of these international breaks, rather than players coming back injured that is.

No Palmer or Saka in the squad, it’s the perfect time for him to actually show he can do something at international level.

Unless he snaps out of this malaise he risks becoming Citys' Rashford.
Seems to spend more time promoting his sons media presence. I have always had an issue with his reluctance to assist Harland often deciding to shoot when Harland is in a better position.

As far as I can tell, Spanish teams are not worse than English teams right now. Forget Real and Barca. PSG wiped the floor with Liverpool in terms of created chances and the latter were lucky to not lose the the tie by 3 goals or more.

Also, United needed help from referees to win vs. Sociedad. On current form, Foden would struggle in any of the big leagues, not just the PL.

A season or two on loan at Dortmund would do him a world of good. He needs to work under a different coach / structure.

He's been at City too long and looks disinterested. A year or so away would refresh his game, or bring him down to earth.

Posted this in a different thread, but this is obviously the most appropriate thread for it.

Phil keeps on having kids. Father of 3 at the age of 24 and won everything at club level.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's questioning his priorities a little, being away with the club so much. Also seems to just get past the point where a kid would be up all night and then he has another and it starts all over again. I've got no idea if his family and how it's all going, but it can be hard going. He just seems jaded whenever he plays now.

I just reckon he probably has a lot going on in his life and football's lost a little if the thrill. No idea if that's right, but seems a possible.

he will want to impress Tuchel I am sure in the first trainings and games. he scores two and assists 2 vs Albania. then back to City struggling to get an accurate pass lol.

‘he needs to work under a different coach/structure’ applies to about 5/6 of our most talented players.

It’s time to bring the new coach and ideas here instead.

I certainly wouldn't disagree with you on that point. However, I don’t think that's going to happen soon enough.

As I say, in Phil Foden’s case, a season away from City (Pep) on loan may well be just what he needs.

As you suggest, the same would probably apply to 5 or 6 other young players currently stagnating at City.

He was our best player last season, dragged us to the title, POTS. One off year and you want to send him out on loan? Madness

It's bonkers, I have no idea what has happened to his game this year, none of us do yet posters are making up imaginary reasons and inventing solutions accordingly. The only people that know are Foden and his coaches and they will work hard over the summer to get him back to his player of the year form.

This is the craziest thing I have read here. How do you loan an already established player out? He either stays or moves on. No loans
