47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

It's a good job he is the current player of the year and an academy graduate as there's many, many players that would get lynched for such a pathetic lack of effort out of possession.

The amount of times hes seen either starting to sprint back only to just give up entirely and walk back or is seen jogging back behind his man as they attack the space he's not in is unacceptable for anybody. His pressing is the poorest in the team and that's quite an achievement of late. Whether there's something wrong with him or not, it's not on.

He is the only one aside from kdb that would have actually shot from where he did that forced the first goal though, it wasn't a particularly great effort, although it was clever to bounce it right infront of him but that's what happens when you bother to at least try and score so have to give him credit for that.

Agree. Awful defensive work from him.

Looked gassed today but he’s played a lot of minutes lately, 6 days off will do him good. Wasn’t great today but he had a fantastic performance against Everton on boxing say. Theres a lot of luck in football and if any of his teammates had finished the many chances he put on a platter for them he would have been motm, he performed until he was marked out in last third of the game. The stats don’t tell the full story. Thought he looked bright against villa too.

This lad can’t do right for doing wrong though imho. Lot of people on this forum and social media seem to have forgot he dragged us to the title last season and just spewing out venom at him because he hasn’t maintained that form. Seen suggestions he should be sold or dropped for Macca because he obviously can’t be arsed then the next post is complaining he is visibly frustrated when his teammates don’t complete their chances.

He’s been brilliant for the last few seasons, born and bred city fan, one of our own. Think the drop off both in his own form and in the clubs will be hurting him as much as it is us. Need to support the lad not turn on him the way some of you are doing.
