47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

I think there's a lot of harsh comments on here about our best player going forward yesterday (appreciate his defensive work was shite). For instance:

His decent long range attempt directly led to Savio's goal.

He found Haaland with two superb crosses from the right.

He joined Haaland in an excellent counterattack before delivering a slightly overhit ball with his weaker right foot.

He's playing his way back into form, so give him a break!

Bang on. Was it a master class… no. Did he do alright, yeah.
Appreciate emotions always running high during and directly after the game but in the absence of scoring goals or his teammates finishing the chances he creates, it’s like people on here don’t watch him play half the time.
Hes not dropping worldie showings, we all know that. But there’s a whole spectrum between being shite and being POTY and would be good to see some acknowledgement and positivity around what he is providing on that spectrum.

I don’t think he deserves a break at all when people are questioning his work ethic.

From an attacking perspective, he is improving and starting to have more of an impact on our games.

From a defensive aspect he is woeful and deserves calling out for it. The Everton 4 on 2 break at the end of the last game sums him up to a tee.

At the start of the Everton counter attack he was the second outfield City player closest to our goal. By the end of the attack only Haaland was further from the City goal. His effort against Leicester wasn’t much better either.

He’s either lazy, injured or doesn’t give a shite. Either way he’s extremely lucky to still be starting matches for us.

Agree with all of that. He was decent going forward.

Just looks a bit gassed, doesn't Have the puff at the moment. Still building his stamina up and it's leaving us defensively exposed. Hopefully we see the best of Phil in next 2 - 3 weeks.

The team missed pre-season & many players have said it affects the whole season trying to get into the groove.

The lad looks shattered but has to play. Mcatee deserves a run & hopefully this allows Phil time to get sharp.
In fairness players and managers come out with all sorts of shit sometimes.
