47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

Phils development is... weird.

I feel lately, the best Phil we see is when he is like a shadow strikee to Haaland.

He isnt quite doing what we need deeper in midfield or on the wing, and his goal scoring shines playing close to a striker.

He has oddly developed into a sort of Thomas Muller for us.

Im not mad about it, but thats how Pep should use him more. I think all that time playinf as a false 9 developed him into that a bit.

What’s going on with Phil this season ? Is he recovering from an injury still

He is recovering from the looser mentality of the shittiest national team in the world.

i mostly agree, i expected his playmaking and control of the game would've been better by now because he definitely has the talent to do it. Still, theres time for him to pick it up and i hope he does cause he has more than enough quality to be a top three player in the world

Pep in his presser just said Phil is getting into a better place mentally. I posted there had been rumours from a good source that Phil had a few issues outside football that made the Management concerned over him.

My post was derided by one poster even though I did say it was only what I'd heard and not my opinion but the cockwomble didn't want to know.

So, the rumours appear to be true and there's no one better than Pep and his team in looking after player's welfare. Hoping Phil can now focus on getting back to his best and becoming an important part of the team as he was last year.

Phil has recently moved house to a little quiet village with good fishing nearby. Not the usual footballers area like the Golden Triangle where City United Everton and Lpool players live in close proximity to each other.

Yep, read that, hopefully he's getting good advice and will be in a better place as Pep said. I wouldn't be surprised if Pep and his team have advised him on aspects of his private life but of course that's pure conjecture from me.

Sounds like he's nearly back to normal. Pep clearly managing his minutes until he feels fully ready. Doesn't sound like its long off now :)
