If it was anything more than an illness the press would have found out and posted it everywhere by now. They need something to distract from the circus at the rags.
Are you able to elaborate? It's not an injury or illness.
His problem might be getting back in straight away. I would expect him to be on the bench against Brentford with a start in the CL. All the wide players are playing well and not likely to be easily displaced. With the return of Gundo and recovery of Rodri together with the sparkling form of Kovacic and Kev leaves no obvious start in the middle. The fact the man in charge is not likely to be swayed by fan sentiment or public opinion may mean Phil will have to fight for his place.Gonna be curious who drops out for Phil (if anyone)
He's not the best o nthe wing, he wants ti be central but Bernardo and Kev have started the season amazingly as has Kovacic, and that's before Rodri coming back
Good problem to have I guess
Mbete's brotherHa. Nothing like that.
But I do know someone very close to one of the youth players was a while back.
We're coping okay without him so far. But it'll be great to have him back in contention for a place in the starting XI.Anyone who has had a viral stomach issue knows that it takes a while to get back to normal, never mind match fit. If Phil is walking around, that’s great, hopefully he can be excused from the England squad and spend time back at our training facilities where the staff can nurse him back quickly. No point in rushing him though
i went there last week, i didnt even know Phil had been there until i read this thread :D (my insides are fine, Phil is a Korma p*ssy, so i've heard)Purple Pakora struck him down.
That’s the beauty of this squad. He will get back in. He’s too good not to. Those who are standing in right now have been excellent and proof of why having a well rounded quality squad is vital.
We are in pretty good shape regardless of the supposed lack of numbers.
See you soon Phil.
There was a time not so long ago when you worried what the absence of certain players would do to our game but that has been diminishing season by season to the point I’m comfortable whatever the line up.That’s the beauty of this squad.
When Pep replaces a player, there is no drop-off in quality, Jack showed on Saturday, and Phil did for the first half of last season, whereas most other teams don’t have the same level of talent to be able to do that.
You don’t take antibiotics for a virus, Pep
Any relation to purple ake?Purple Pakora struck him down.
The comforting thing is the more Pep evolves this squad the more multifunctional our players have become. The LB problem we once had is no longer a problem. Pep signed Gvardiol as one of the most promising LCBs in Europe and transformed him into a highly efficient LB, and when he doesn't play there we have Ake. And when Ake isn't available we have Akanji who does a capable job at LB. Some on here were flapping about Rodri not playing but up steps Kovacic and Young Rico Lewis and we've won our first 3 games, and we haven't missed Rodri tbf. There was a time not so long ago when you worried what the absence of certain players would do to our game but that has been diminishing season by season to the point I’m comfortable whatever the line up.
