Confident shot to bits?

Doesn't seem to be carrying an injury. Runs plenty too, so I'm not sure it's a fitness thing.

Everything he does is a fraction slower than at season. He's not instinctive, second guesses himself. The beauty of his play is he can take a ball in a short space and work in fractions of seconds and space but we're not seeing it this season.

Looks more mental than physical.
"Doesn't seem to be carrying an injury. Runs plenty too, so I'm not sure it's a fitness thing."

Not sure that's true, gives a lot up very easily for me.

Phil needs a good team around him, he's not a player that raises the team level single handedly. He cannot conduct, control or manage the midfield, he's a final third forward, a number 10 who can assist or score, if there's no solid midfield behind him you'll see these average performances from him.

Noticed something yesterday in the first half he lots the ball on our right and didn’t seem to bother trying to get it back, the ball went over to the right and out, the camera went to Akanji who was shouting Phil numerous times, Foden completely blanked him as he strolled over to the right. There is something not right, he never used to wave his hands about he took players on in the last third that seems to have gone.
I think he needs KDB and Grealish around him to make him play better sadly he gets hooked for one of them.

Crazy how much he has gone backwards. He played really high up yesterday as a 10 and had zero impact on the game.I watched Palmer earlier in the day and the difference was staggering. Not just because Palmer scored another worldie but the way he constantly got into good positions to receive the ball. Phil doesn’t even seem to be doing that at the moment

Somethings not right here Hes not untouchable and should not get away with half arsed performances needs to buck up big time

He'll be back.
He is a wonderful young player, with a technique beyond that of nearly everyone in the game.
He has been injured, and ill, and has had a new child. This is all at the same time as the team has been underperforming and going again after his sixth title.

Feels like there’s more to this one that meets the eye, as others alluded to when he was ‘ill’, but hopefully that’s wide of the mark.

He’s one of our own and IF there’s serious stuff happening off the pitch he shouldn’t be on it, regardless of our injuries.

Shocking performance, all players have dips but what's the excuse for lack of effort and desire?

Too happy to go missing and to let the game go on around him, time to drop him regardless of our issues.

Do you honestly believe what you have posted ?

I do not accept that professional players simply do not care about their performances.

You have no idea whether he has fitness issues or other issues affecting the way he is able to perform at present. The way the whole team is performing suggests that there are many problems within the squad, and yet you have decided that he is " too happy to go missing and let the game go on around him ".

It is this kind of comment, albeit your opinion to which you are entitled, which I find so disappointing when coming from our own supporters.

Not dissimilar to RawK and rag cafe imo.

Foden has had a shocking Euros followed by a shocking season so far in our shirt.

I don't know what the issue is but clearly there is a problem.

Last season he was magnificent and was rightly rewarded with the personal awards but now he has set his standard and so far since those awards he is way off that level.

Injury, illness, family problems who knows but there is a problem.

He was too happy to disappear yesterday and at times he was not doing the hard work.

Maybe his teammates made him look good last season. The same teammates are completely off this season.

And you still do not know what his issues are, but maintain he was in your opinion " too happy to disappear "

With over 29,000 posts I find your tone on occasions strange, varying from sensible and considered to hyperbolic and reactionary, but that is only my observation.

The only thread worth reading for me currently is the one addressing the PL, the **** Masters, and the cabal clubs, because of the potential impact on City, so I'm out.

There was a moment yesterday when he lost the ball and didn’t remotely try to win it back. It led to the moment where Akanji was trying to get his attention.

We had it a couple of years ago where Phil was in and out the team for 6 months, then came back the season after stronger.

We just don’t have the ability to give him a break at the moment. Experimenting with Grealish in that position could give him a break.

I don't judge someone off of one bad game.. it can happen.. but I think there's something wrong with him.. something physically or medically. I don't know what it is.. I will not speculate.. but he's not the player he was last season physically.

He just seems to be devoid of energy.. doesn't have the willpower or energy to press, get the ball back like he used to and if you remember he used to be our best presser. In fact it was his pressing that benched Sterling.

Even his passes and shots don't come off with the same venom/ authority as before where he could beat defenses.. but instead now they find opposition team players and he's only 24..

I hope our medical staff can fix this or we might actually need another midfielder if it's a really bad injury.
