Why the hell was is going to work for him on the left tonight.
He has been moaning this week how hard he found it for England in the summer on the left

I hope this is the end of wide winger Phil.

His game isnt suited there anymore, and Pep is just wasting his time playing he or Bernie on the wing.

When's the last time he dribbled past someone? Not offering anything if he isnt a goal threat and can't be a goal threat on the left with how 1 footed he is.
When he properly broke through a few years ago, he played his best football on the left, shining in wins against PSG and Dortmund. He used to glide past players. He struggles to get past players for some reason now. He’s only 24, at that age you are stronger and just as quick as when you were 20.

Hasn't he scored 6 goals in last y or 7 games.
Is that not a goal threat?.
Back the young blue.
Don't knock him

Might want to reread it as you've misunderstood what i said. I said IF he's not a goal threat he's not offering anything not that has hasnt been a goal threat. Then i said he cannot be a goal threat from the left, he played off the left tonight for the first time in ages and didn't score or look like scoring.

Tried to make things happen on the left, but it's just not the best suit for him. Much better shifted to the right.

He said he’s offering nothing if he’s not a goal threat. That’s very true. He’s been scoring plenty so is well worth his place at the moment. From the left that goal threat goes down significantly and as we seen last night he no longer has that burst of pace to go past his man on the outside.

He can play much better on the left in my opinion. He clearly doesn't like the position, but that doesn't mean he can't do more. Having said that, the first half was a case of too many static players wanting the ball to feet and no one performed very well. Second half, being inside right and combining with Bernardo and Nunes he is just so much more effective and Nunes was much more comfortable as well. Pep needs to move on from the likes of Gundo and De Bruyne. Their day has gone now, we've got better younger players who he has to trust to deliver. Luckily he took note and made the changes and we were so much better in the second half.
