47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

Still depressed from the Euros. He went there to show the world how good he was and bombed badly (relative to his own expectations!, imo, he wasn't poor) with 0 goals/assists in 7 games. This could easily get to your mind.

In contrast Rodri, his main competitor for player of the season, won player of the tournament. Foden is happy about Rodri, but is probably way too harsh on himself. Hence what we are seeing now.

He will overcome these problems by late November or December.

You've hit on it. It's a mind issue with Phil.
All the talent, but needs to harness what KDB and Rodri have upstairs. Shows flashes but can't sustain it.

Something needs sorting otherwise he’s not going to get a look in. How can he justify a starting place when he doesn’t perform in a match? I can’t understand it? He has so much talent, he could waltz around many players with his eyes shut, he’s that good.

I'm not at that stage with him. Just frustrated (as I'm sure he is) that he's not becoming one of the World's best consistently - the talent is obviously there and occasionally emerges, but not enough and it's needed more than ever now.
Needs the very best sport psychologist - hypnotherapy etc. Sure the club are on it.

I get you, I was going back to when he first came on the scene. The first season or two he was immense.

Thought last night was peps fault, false 9 with no support around him, needs the ball quickly fed into him, half our players cant play the ball forwards. Plenty of times he would of been through last night if someone had a bit about them and played it quicker.

Nunes doesn’t help either, plays the hero role trying to beat multiple people all at once before being to slow in his decision making , waiting for the op to fill the box and playing a cross into someone whos 5ft 8 - madness
