47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

There was a moment yesterday when he lost the ball and didn’t remotely try to win it back. It led to the moment where Akanji was trying to get his attention.

We had it a couple of years ago where Phil was in and out the team for 6 months, then came back the season after stronger.

We just don’t have the ability to give him a break at the moment. Experimenting with Grealish in that position could give him a break.
I had to laugh when the camera panned to Akanji shouting, "Phil, Phil, Phil, Phil... Phil!" in the style of Alan Partridge shouting, "Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan... Dan!"

You get the distinct feeling sometimes that Phil isn't concentrating on the match but rather sat under a brolly casting a line out.

0 goals and 1 assist in the league and it's December now.

Loss of form has been staggering. Still think it's related to the Euros. But who knows? Let's hope he regains form this month and is on song till the end of the season.

If that was Sir Michael of Doyle having to shout his name five fucking times, young Phillip would have been getting a size 10 Adidas boot up his back box. Probably what he needs as well currently.

He’s currently on Instagram stories posting pictures of all his trophies and his PFA award last season. I’d rather just see him do his talking on the pitch to be honest.

I wouldn't mind him doing both, but take your point :)

If it was limited to just him then yes, but pretty much every player is out of shape and out of form or injured.

We've collectively hit the wall. Not sure how our conditioning coach is managing this or even if he can.

Yeah, a bit weird and probably not him considering he doesn’t even do his own instagram

You can't compare him to players who have never been considered the best in the league and are doing better than him. Stats wise, he's been our worst player in the league (he's been one of our better players in the CL, though). Even Nunes and Savinho have done better, Lewis too. Stones, Kovacic and Gvardiol have won us points in the league.
