If this is true then it’s probably time he was moved on for his own benefit I think.

I love Foden and really thought he was going to become the world’s best but various factors have meant he hasn’t been able to do that.

Being at one of the very best football clubs in the world I have no doubt is draining but the best players rise to the occasion each and every season. No point in sacrificing your mental wellbeing to try and please anyone, a step down where there is less pressure would do him the world of good, West Ham or someone like that.

Lets him by shipping him off. What a shite post

Player loses form shocker
Let’s just say, I don’t think he has been that bad. Just not hit the levels we know he can. Needs a rest I think. It’s exhausting winning everything.
If you want loss of form, then gundog, Lewis, Phillips , Akanji, Dias, Eddy, Grealish, kovicic , most of em really

We need to get behind our players who are struggling. I am disappointed so many City fans are so quick to criticise injured players and those out of form when they have no insight to what is going on. We have had a few years of dominance, the best team in the World. Things happen and we can’t expect perfection every season. Nobody ever won the Premier League for times running, and nobody ever won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup in the same year before. Get real and support the club and players

Everyone‘s fault but Foden‘s.

You try performing at close to 100% all of the time in a high-pressure job. Not only does it take its toll physically, but also mentally.

Add to that pressures these players are subject to off the pitch and it's easy to see why some of them just get a bit overwhelmed mentally.

It's nobody's fault. Sure, there are things you can do to alleviate the effects of stress on your mental and physical health, but sometimes, for whatever reason your mental acuity and overall health takes a dip, and you struggle to perform at your best. Every player is different.

Hopefully, Phil can get back to his best and I'm sure the club will be doing their absolute best to help him get there.

I agree, some here are too critical.

Few of us including myself posted on here a few months ago he wasn't well.

But some posters decided they were not happy with what was being said, and tried to discredit us posting.

I did notice around the time all the posts were later removed.

Yeah? What compelling evidence did you have?

Why would posts be removed?

By whom?

Makes me recall the old days when City had a "reserve team" for players temporarily out of form, returning from injury or on the cusp of breaking into the first team.
As a lad, I used to get in for free and sit on the wall with my frozen Jubbly.

Bovril and a Wagon Wheel in the winter

You've just named five or maybe even six players who will (should) be gone in the summer. Add USA bound KDB to that list too.

There's a big difference between loss of form and loss / lack of ability/intensity at top level.

To be honest, Phil has been as bad as, if not worse than, most of those you’ve named this season.

The important thing is that time on his side and, unless he does a Michael Johnson on us (heaven forbid), he'll be fine in the long term.

Really sad what happened to Johnson. Phill would have been in and around the club when he retired so he'll have a good idea what happened there. I think most modern footballers are acutely aware of how quickly it can all come to an end, and some cope with that better than others. I'm not writing Phil off at all. I think he'll come good again.
