4k TVs

Anyone used ambient lighting attachements that go on the back of the telly? My son is asking about them and they do look good on the adverts, but i have my doubts about the reality.
It can add a bit to I but you don't miss what you don't have.

Not a must in my humble opinion but then I'm not a tech-head.........

Picking this back up as I'm looking at trying to get a new TV in the Black Friday Sales. Seen a few deals already but completely bombarded by the information out there and can't settle on one. I would like a 55-65" but depends on price of course. It seems as though it would be better to buy a 55" OLED than a 65" LED!?

I don't use the TV for gaming so I'm only really concerned by image quality for films and things. I would say wide viewing angle, due to room shape and sound would be other preferences.

Anyone got any recommendations? LG OLED seems to be the way to go, but is it truly worth spending £1k+ rather than circa £600-700 for that technology.

To put it into context, the current TV I have is a very old Samsung so any new tech is going to be an improvement!

If you can afford it I would go with OLED. Its the best picture without a doubt. I've got a LG 77 inch one coming this weekend. Got it from Richer Sounds as they offer a 6 year guarantee instead of the standard 5 years.

You may have been better going with John Lewis for an extra £140 you can get a burn in warranty. I have to agree OLED is the best especially for films, they are down to £1k for a BX now, great value.

Sounds good, will have a look at that one. I think the trouble is, like with most things, you read up on the BX for example and then there's the higher spec versions which are just a little more and the reviews tempt you that way but before you know it you've added £500 to what you wanted to spend and that's before delivery/installation/wall mounts etc all of which I need as I'm useless at anything DIY!

Forget the TV, can I have whatever money you're getting paid!

Delivery is free, you can get a decent wall mount for £30 on eBay, 6 screws and it’s done, piece of piss pal.
