5 Days in Italy, Where to go and why?

Lucky sod :-) I agree with all those places. Beautiful weather, scenery ,food and the best gelato anywhere.
Probably won't do Capri again - expensive and very busy. There's a 200-year old lobster bar in the centre of Sorrento that I might give a try.
Pizza, pasta, wine & Peroni for a week - got a wedding the week after we get back and seriously worried I won't fit in my suit!

My family are from the Campania region so I always recommend this - Naples, Salerno, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, Agropoli plus the Neapolitan islands - Capri, Ischia and Procida.

Capri is pricey, Ischia is nicer plus get a stop off for the smaller Procida where my uncle and cousins live, it is Italy's Capital Of Culture 2022 and setting for the film Il Postino (The Postman)

Did you go up to Mount Solari ? - stunning views of the rock formation and coast.
Thankfully only went on a day trip over but the Ferry ride alone was worth it.

Only thread I could find without starting a new one...Archaeologist me!

Heading to Bologna for 5 days on Friday - Does anyone have any must do's or restaurants, bars or experiences they have had there or around Bologna which they would recommend?

Italian motor tour - Looking for a trip to the Ferrari, Lambo, Maserati and Pagani factory/museums - Anyone been as you can mix and match I understand but seems a bit steep at Euro 300.00 for the day.

Thinking of popping down to San Marino by train but not sure on that as I think deep down just trying to add another country to the list ;-)

I did the marinello Rossi museum tour and it didn’t wow me. The whole area is stunning, I did the San Marino Grand Prix back in 2004 and it was great fun.

Outside the Czech Republic, Italy is the place I'd most like to live. Usually try and go at least once a year. Fantastic country.
Yep. Got married in Greve in Chianti and very up for retiring to that neck of the woods if at all possible but I could think of 50 or 60 places there I could happily live.

I like cycling to a small cafe in the city square. Eating gelato with a cup of latte whilst people watching. My sister lives there but we've fallen out so I doubt I'll go back anytime soon.
Finding a cafe where you can sit and do that is a simple but great pleasure. The design of Italian cities and towns around one or more piazzas is something I love. Hope there's a point were you are able to do that again there.

Been to Ferrara 8 or 9 times since 2000 when first visited for her wedding but haven't seen that much of Italy tbh. Been to Bologna, Florence, Venice, Dolomite mountains and the beach resort of Lido Degli Estensi. Oh, i almost forgot i went on a catfishing holiday fishing the river Po for a week which i really enjoyed.

I used to like getting on my bike and exploring places without my sis because she'd have me going shopping or visiting her friends which bored me. Doubt she'll apologise after the last row we had and I'm sick of apologising even when it's not my fault, sibling rivalry eh, lol.

Anyone going to Bologna/Ferrara region i advise you weigh up flying to Venice and catching the train to where you're going as it can be up to £100 cheaper than flying to Bologna airport.
