Happy to say he's proving me wrong! Just needs to sustain for a full season and not repeat the 17/18 and 18/19 season when he was phenomenal for half a season then struggled terribly post-christmas, albeit following injury

It is great to see JS at his very best. He was always much better as they all were next to VK, Dias is also a dominant player like VK. It is also helping that we are more defensive in midfield so the defence are not as exposed as in previous seasons.

All we need now is to find our shooting boots

No it is not. Fake news.

I know for a fact that while City won't let him reach next summer before opening talks, the club want to leave it until late Spring before offering fresh terms.

It's not a problem, he wants to stay, but John has been told to just keep his head down and focus completely on his football for the immediate future.

Even the top brass at City have stated nothing imminent.

If that's true, it's a blessing on all sides. He is an extreme talent, in my view, and can become one of the world's best with an injury free run and if his personal troubles are behind him. That he wants to stay and prove himself, and that we want the same, is great news.

Massive credit to Stones for turning it around. I for one did not expect it and wanted him sold but he’s been excellent. Everybody had Dias and Laporte as our starters but now it’s Dias and Stones.

Amazing what confidence can do. Stones has had one of the most drastic of turn arounds.

Its great he has avoided injury and is now proving what a class act he can be , he's got his head right and the best english defender in the Premier league at the moment.

Been like a new season purchase for us. He’s very close to being the best defender in the league. His mate beside him might just top him.

I’m not sure how we have stumbled into this CB partnership but we look more solid than we have for a long time. Stones looks a completely different player and I think having someone of Dias standard next to him is really helping.
