I'll admit, at the beginning of the season after all the injuries and poor form from games for 2 years I kind of wanted him sold.

Very glad that didn't happen. With Stones I feel it was always this mental block (family problems, personal issues I dunno), because physically, he always had it in him to be the best. Let's hope this momentum carries on.

he has cut out the fannying about at the wrong moment.

nearly all our players for some reason fanny about waiting for players to be right on top of them before passing, frustrates the f""k out of me just pass n move
That's what they are supposed to do. The idea is that when the opponents jumps and gets close you use the space they leave behind while creating both time and space for the recipient of your pass. If they always passed before attracting pressure we wouldn't be able to break lines as effective.

I though his City career was over in the summer, but credit to him for some very good performances. Whilst we might not be firing on all cylinders up front, the number of clean sheets we are keeping is exceptional. If this is part of the building blocks to a new team, then we could be a brilliant team again before long and Stones is playing a major part.

What a lovely surprise to see John playing this well and looking like the Rolls Royce of a defender we all hoped he would be. Highlight of the season so far.

Is that source reputable?

No it is not. Fake news.

I know for a fact that while City won't let him reach next summer before opening talks, the club want to leave it until late Spring before offering fresh terms.

It's not a problem, he wants to stay, but John has been told to just keep his head down and focus completely on his football for the immediate future.

Even the top brass at City have stated nothing imminent.
