Put in an impressive performance for England and I don't think it will be long before he is back in the City first team. Laporte is an excellent cb, but I think the Dias/Stones partnership looks more solid and cohesive.

I’m confused why is stones not playing for us ? If he’s fit to play for England makes no sense he’s not in for us

Because Laporte has been really good. Pep said after the Norwich games those that perform well will keep their place. I wouldn't stress though, we have a lot of games coming up, Stonesy will get his chance to perform.

Think he landed heavily in the Poland game. He played on and looked fine but perhaps he’s feeling it.
He did and should have come off, he’s done it before, needs to remember who pays his wages and get his priorities sorted The club stood by him through his troubles and have rewarded him with a new contract

at the end he was bent over holding both his hamstrings...dont blame him but for somebody who had barely trained, let alone play since the Euros, it was crazy. He'll prob be fit for the next round of insipid internationals.

Just curious as seen a rumour that his new contract was 250k per week and 3rd highest earner, surely not ?

this is not a dig at John stones btw

Good to see him back. Great player
Was about to post the exact same words. Love the lad!

The player who acknowledges the fans the most in the whole squad n’all. He actually applauds the fans in the stands and not just his family and friends in the boxes on Level 2.

Really solid performance today and had the big Kiwi bouncing at times beating him to headers. So classy on the ball n’all!

Don’t rotate him now; he’s already lost a sizeable chunk of the past 5 years here due to various issues - he’s entering his prime and now looks as good as any defender in Europe.

There’s not much between him, Laporte and Dias overall, but I’d argue he’s the most complete, plus if the English option is as good as the alternative then they should always be prioritised.
