There was a moment that summed up Stones quite well.

He's on the left tussling with someone (Zaha) and manages to win the ball back. Holds him off for a bit, and then when it looks like he's going to be crowded out plays a pass with his weaker foot into midfield taking out multiple Palace players in the process.

Stones and Dias are our best CB pairing. Stones plays well with Dias and Walker either side. We don't look as settled when he's dropped to allow Laporte to partner Dias, especially with Dias being much stronger as. LCB, he(Dias) looks a bit lost sometimes as a RCB.

100% agree, I think Stones's overall game is better than Laporte's. This is not a knee jerk reaction after yesterday, we look more solid with Stones and Dias together.
