Best defender at the club in my opinion.
I wouldn't disagree but Stones is a confidence player and him being in and out of the team means we're not seeing how good he would be if he was starting every game, or more regularly. I realise it's about rotation, especially as we have 5 senior CBs all wanting game time, plus Stones cannot play every game due to picking up niggling injuries. When he does play i think he plays best alongside Dias. Those two look to have the best understanding between our CBs.

Great to see him exuding belief and confidence, something he was bereft of not too long ago.
 
He's ageing like fine wine. Now that he's cut out those brain farts he was prone to some years back, there aren't many better around. He never really gets talked about as someone who is among the best in Europe which is surprising.

The reason is mainly down to him being rotated/injured.

If he was a permanent fixture in our back 4 then he would receive far more plaudit and recognition.

You're not wrong. But he does start every game for England and never puts a foot wrong. He's outstanding.
