I felt he was always a bit over hyped. But this season, and especially in this new position, he's been a much better player than I ever thought he could become. Just terrific.

Despite what he claims are his limitations and his doubts....he was immense last night in his reading of the game,his vision,his bravery,his defending,his link and his attacking play,and his all round passion and will to win.

Yeah I wouldn't have picked him but he deserves the recognition.

I really loved last nights performance because it showed a different side of the position, much more hands on defending, and against a much higher quality midfield.

He wasn't playing as a defensive midfielder then - that's what I'm speaking about, not his quality as a centre back which I've not disputed.

In some ways his "only 180 vision" works for City as he tends to move the ball on quickly - and when his pass rate is still so high, it makes what appears a more defensive set up, into a more dynamic one.
