The most complete defender in world football really isn't he. Comically still seems to be under-rated.

I think it's because he's not typically seen as someone who would be able to carry an average defence on his back in the same way as Van Dijk did at Liverpool for a few years but rather needs to have world class players around him in order to to flourish. I agree that he is vastly underrated by non-City fans though.

With those two starting any game I’m confident we‘d beat anyone

At one point in the first half he played centre half, centre mid, right mid then striker in the space of 40 seconds. Getting on the ball in every position and recycling play.

Absolutely love the bloke. Probably my favourite player to watch.
