5 | John Stones - 2024/25

No that’s talking from working with a bad back, fucked up knees for years, when we are on the bones of our arse maybe just maybe it’s time to step up. He’s ok to go play for England after not playing for us and then get injured again, he should say fuck that until I’m playing regular for City that should go on the back burner, same with Walker, KDB etc.

Ok so no actual idea of the individual's specific problems then.

A very useful contribution to the forum.

So why is he off so much? He’s supposedly a professional athlete and can’t string more than 5 games together, so something is wrong, either our medical team are shit or he’s a fucking sick note who goes down at the first time of a niggle bit on a fucking fortune to boot.

What's strange is nobody ever knows what his injuries are, he's out for long periods every season and not once has it been said what is actually wrong with him.
Im sure I read somewhere that he has plantar fasciitus, which whilst possible wouldn't explain why he keeps disappearing at half time, if he was suffering from plantar fasciitus I really doubt it would come on over a half of football

I do not claim to know the answers to the questions you pose.

You on the other hand are making statements, based upon your own feelings and circumstances, about the fitness aspects affecting professional athletes, under the care and supervision of professionals with specific medical expertise.

And sadly, being paid the salary that they are, is not a recognised cure for injury as far as I am aware.

The guy just can't keep fit.

Rolls Royce of a player but might be time to replace with a younger more robust player.
I have been saying that for some time now. When you are winning trophies all the time you can carry this kind of player but when times get hard they become a luxury you can't afford. Hopefully he gets back into the Grove and can string 15 or 20 games together and prove me wrong. But if this season heads south and he is MIA a lot of the time imo it would be foolish to include him in any rebuild.

I am pretty sure that in view of the current situation the club are enduring, there are some serious decisions being made on the long-term futures of a number of the players.

If my memory serves me well I thought he didn't go to the England camp this time??

Plus, no disrespect, but there is a difference between going to our work with injuries/illness/pain and being a professional footballer. I've gone into work hobbling on walking sticks, with a broken ankle amongst other things but I have had the 'luxury' of then being able to sit down in the classroom and let the children come to me. I have not had to run around a football field training. :-)

From what I've heard John Stones, like other players has played through the pain when possible. But there comes a time when they have to give in.

This will be my last defence of JS because I can see that he is struggling and maybe it will be his last season. I can't keep on defending because it just makes me look silly. (Nowt new there then) Plus it is not up to me it is up to Manchester City.

Good luck John Boy, you will always be one of my heroes. :-)

No it doesn't it just shows you're not a fair weather fan, just continue doing what you do it'll never look silly.

I have read he suffers from Plantar Fasciitis, which is a painful foot condition. I know because I have had it on and off over the years. Even if he feels OK in training or at the start of 90 minutes, it can start to hurt and that will affect his performance. same goes for Kev’s groin pain, you would hold back if you thought the next run or kick might give you a nasty pain. Sadly these are signs of players who gave their all for too many games without a decent spell of recovery. Pep needs to get over his obsession with small squads, I think only 3 or 4 of our regular first team squad have not had time out for knocks or injuries, and it will get worse if we progress in the Champions League and FA Cup

The ones who look silly @Eccles Blue[/USER] are the posters who make statements based upon their own emotional and often irrational thinking - imho.

Assuming to know more concerning the medical issues/impacts upon players based upon their own subjective opinions.
