I might be reaching here, but I think it was weird that Haaland was picked as captian over Stones who’s been here many more years. Wonder if Stones is still around after the summer? I hope he does because he’s top class when he’s fit
Could be our reserve goalkeeper perhaps.
Not much difference v our no 1 goalie in terms of either shot stopping ability or passing / ball playing skills.
Just kidding, before the Ederson fan brigade lands up....

Imperious. Looked like he was playing against under 8's all game. Completely pocketed Isak and anybody else that dared challenge him.

Most impressive though was how he coached Khusanov through the game. Not that he neccesarily needed it but he showed brilliant leadership making sure he and his partner were on it at all times and had each other's backs. A proper cb duo today, Isak hasn't had a tougher game all season.
Rodri was obviously a huge miss, but Stones probably was as missed for large parts of this season when injured or unfit.
They say Pep just buys great players, or was lucky to somehow suddenly inherit amazing youth players at Barca.

But nobody thought Rodri or Stones would become so great when Pep brought them over.

So Sam Lee asked about this in the post match press conference. Pep said he decided and the players didn’t vote. He said it was because Haaland was going to be at the club 10 yrs.

Which makes zero sense but whatever.

Oh Jonny Boulders. My man. Would tuck him into bed if I walked in on him with my wife.

Keep him here for the rest of his career. Injury prone? Yes. But his expertise and knowledge are invaluable for the newer, younger players.

Definitely if I'm keeping 1 of the injury prone guys it's him.

Weren't some absolute whoppers writing him off here very recently after a couple of poor games? (by his own standards)

He's always been someone who needs a few games to get up to speed when coming back. But once he has I wouldn't swap him for any other centre-back around. Including that dirty helmet Van Dijk.

Just tragic that he can’t stay healthy because he is unique. Can’t think of anyone in world football I’d swap a fit JS for.

He’s up there to be fair. Man of the match for me in a winning champions league final and one of the best in our treble season as well.
He’s also been Englands best centre half during their recent resurgence

He’s massively underrated ,it’s a shame that some players just can’t shake off injuries and they dog them for their whole careers

Other world class centre half’s have suffered with Ledley King and Paul McGrath being some notable names from the past
