You mentioned not going into the market. But we wouldn't because all areas were overed, minus the hole Alvarez left, apologies if you didn't mean that. Many have said that in here that we didn't replace Alvarez because of Bobb, but that is bollocks. Even on your original point, we didn't go in the market because we had Bobb, why didn't we after his injury? Our transfer strategy had nothing to do with Bobb.

He is a great talent, but he has got a million times better since injury. Madness
The initial prognosis was that Bobb would only be out for 3-4 months, meaning that the club anticipated him returning at the end of December, before the winter window. It was only his slow return and subsequent injuries that lengthened his absence.

I can only imagine that the club, anticipating his early return, thought it had sufficient quality in place not to need to sign someone else, and nobody could have imagined both Grealish and Foden would have such collapses in form. I also suspect that the club, post Palmer, might have been a little stung and wanted to keep space for his return to show that it had academy talent on the conveyor belt. Just my musing.

Agree to disagree, we had a long term injury to Bobb and just sold Alvarez. Bodies were needed and that's why we saw the January window which we did. The club openly admitted that they should have started the rebuild then so ultimately, nothing to do with Bobb.

Grealish form didn't collapse. Our manager didn't fancy him anymore due to off the field reasons. Foden, absolutely his form we couldn't see coming but our downfall was not starting our rebuild and that wasn't linked to a youth player who had played a handful of times. I am excited to see him back don't get me wrong and hope he gets the minutes and picks up where he left off.

Am I the only one NOT brainwashed by the Bobb cult? Hes looked good in his appearances definitely has potential but 99% are talking here like hes Yamal
I think similar. He’s obviously got a lot of talent, but he’s barely played. Even if he was fit, I’m not sure how much game time he would have got

Except there isnt really any hyperbole here.

People are excited to see him come back because they see a good player.

Thats it.
There is a bit tbf and I like him alot as a player. Very smart, CWC should be good for him if hes fit again.

Do we know where he's at?

He was called up and when I checked a Norwegian he's listed in the squad, though not identified as a potential starter. Italy have defensive injuries so could be a good game.
ta, thought he was still nursing the hamstring for some reason, ill check out the game.

I think he is ok.
He came on for a few minutes at the end of the Bournemouth game and I haven't heard of any problems since.
Great if he got a bit of a decent run in the CWC

I believe he is playing for Norway today.

I think it'll be an interesting watch, also whether he starts.

When he came back briefly from his injury this season, he immediately showed why so many rated him on here by immediately making a chance with his dribbling and passing.

Hope he just stays fit!

I like many City fans have high hopes for Oscar, let's hope next season he can avoid serious injury and start to fulfill his potential. My only concern is with the pending arrival of Cherki, how much game time he will get.

Cherki imo replaces Kevin and Grealish.

Bobb competes with the wingers more likely.

A few media sites are reporting him as a right winger. To be honest I have only seen You Tube clips and a few Europe League highlights when he played against the Rags, but it seemed like he tended to stray in from the right.

Club is crying out for homegrown talent and we're at risk of being fleeced for English's players

Selling him would be a pretty idiotic move, kid was our talent closes too breaking through before a freak injury

Not like Savinho, Foden or Doku have nailed down the right win spot, it's there if he shows what hes worth

I've seen a couple Lyon games since I was tracking Cherki before he blew up on here lol.

Lyon played him as a mix of a inverted RW and a traditional 10.

But his 2-footed-ness and general insane creativity makes his ideal spot as a 10.

He for sure would do a great job as a pure inverted RW creating, but as a 10, he gets more flexibility to be and do whatever he wants, like we gave to Kevin.

He may ultimately favor his right-side even in this free role, but he should have the free role nonetheless imo.

Is there actually any interest in selling him? Figure he's pretty far down the list of players the club would be comfortable moving on.
