52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

The biggest problem is I don't think he has the personality to raise his game. He looks like can't be arsed half the time.

That is not the only way to sum up players though. In fact, I find it somewhat infantile and lacking in any nuance.

Oscar Bobb has less than thirty starts for the first team. He was out for a year, but is the former two-time Academy POTY. He has real potential and has obviously proven himself good enough to be given a chance. It is very unfortunate that as soon as we drop a point, some fans begin scapegoating players, and increasingly very young players, and often wingers.

A few weeks ago people would talk about our players not getting near Liverpool's squad.
You are speaking of a player with 30 starts for the team so we would need to travel back and look at Arsenal's players when they had fewer than thirty starts. And, for the vast majority of their squad, they are trophyless. Arsenal last won a trophy in 2023 - the Community Shield; and before that in 2020. They have the best squad now, arguably, but many of the players now at the top of the league have been several years in development, playing in a squad without the pressure of having to win, but still picking up experience.

Would you say that Rayan Cherki would get near Arsenal's squad?
How would you know? What is it based on?
Apart from his goal at Newcastle he has hardly nothing but if you think he will become world class then that’s your opinion as is my opinion that he isn’t good enough

If you watch the 'Mancunian way' podcast, every player is a 'Project' give them a few seasons etc (Bobb, Savinho, Gonzales etc etc) Pep's not going to be here when all these 'Projects' come good if any will that is.

I don't think it is true that 'he hasn't done nothing' . He has also played a total of 572m in all competitions this season after a year out. I think your judgement is premature. Will he become world-class? I hope so, but he probably has five years of development ahead of him before his peak.

That's because their average age is about 22.

I held a lot of hope that he'd be big for us this season, but I'm disappointed to say the least. Has great technical skill, but he just lacks aggression. He waits too long to put a ball into the middle that he ends up double marked most of the time and won't use his right foot when someone is open.

He's not up to the standard required to challenge for the top trophies.

Just needs game time and match fitness. We’re building a squad for the next five seasons not just for the next seven months.

Not a RW needs to be taken out of the limelight, manager is obsessed with changing players natural positions, he is a 10, is he good enough for us don't know but at least play him in his position

Shouldnt be starting games at all

Nowhere near good enough and he has had quite a few opportunities to prove himself....

Thought this lad had it but now Im not so sure.

He is part of the problem, but the greater problem is that right side was just dead.

Bobb having to hold the width without any wide fullback is not gonna work for him.

Your asking him to constantly just dribble 1v2s we saw today and what's the point?

He made current Bernie look like a wing wizard with that performance.
