Not only that but they are on an extremely tight leash in terms of what they are supposed to do. Their creativity is allowed in extremely limited situations. Other than that they are supposed to stretch the field and progress the ball a few yards and just not lose the ball in the process. All of Doks, Bobb and Savinho could be completely different players elsewhere.I do agree with this to some degree (and Savinho) the way we set up means our wingers are often by themselves.
He's coming back from a long term injury. A leg break is no joke.
He will come good. Just needs time and patience which sadly many on here (and social media) seem to lack.
I think they’re basing it on the 3 or 4 seconds it took him to score that goal at NewcastleAnd people were calling him a world class talent based on a few hundred minutes in pre-season

The way we play isnt favorable to Wingers. That said, id like to see him play some in the middle. Let him use some of his vision and passing.
I take your point on Doku and Savio's shooting. But very few teams have their wingers in slow build ups where the opposition can afford to double team the wingers at will.Disagree mate.
The system is more than suited to wingers, the problem is we don't have any that are good enough.
You put Bayerns or PSG's wingers in our team and the way we play all of a sudden will look world class again.
We will never win a major trophy with Doku, Savio and Bobb on the wing. It might get you an FA or League cup.
If we didn't have Haaland this season and had a more mortal striker up top, we would be bottom half of the league, mid-table at best.
He looks shocking to me when he start but when he comes on with 20/25 min to go he looks decent against tired defenders Pep should stick to that for a bitNot surprising that there are nee-jerk comments about him on this thread, but just maybe Pep keeps playing him in order to try and build up his confidence ?
There are clearly signs that he can bring positives to the attack but that is down to close control rather than pace, and anybody expecting him to race away from defenders will be disappointed.

ThT sometimes is what our wingers deal with, especially when the are no overlapping support.
I don't think Pep would play anyone for the purpose of building up their confidence. Either you make us a better side or someone who does plays over you. The idea is to win games, simple as. Neither Bobb nor Savinho have shown they deserve to be in the first 11 at City. Not surprising that there are nee-jerk comments about him on this thread, but just maybe Pep keeps playing him in order to try and build up his confidence ?
