5th Round - confirmed Sunday 4pm kick off

Who'd have thought it? City fans advocating prioritising the Champions League.
Whilst a Friday or Saturday would be better, isn't this what we wanted, following the takeover? Involved in all competitions, possibly 30 games still left and its February.
We have quite a few players who haven't had a huge number of games this season. Willy, Zabba, Clichy/Kolarov, Kompany, MDM, Sterling, Fernando and Bony. Most should be fit for that game.
Surely we've got to embrace these games? It's got to be better than an end of season party in January.

The FA are a joke. Fancy putting that game on the Sunday. Should be Friday night or Saturday lunch time.

Wouldn't be the best for our fans travelling down but we are basically having to throw away the FA Cup now to hold any hope of Kiev and the Cup final . If it was United they'd bend over for them.

the date has NOT been agreed as of yet

Say we get it changed to a Saturday or Friday, what difference would it make to our team.
We are going to play a weakened team no matter what day the game is played.

At a guess:
If BT had first pick, and took Shrewsbury for Sunday as it can't be on Saturday, that leaves BBC who want City, but I don't think that they have a Saturday broadcast slot. BT knew this and it also strengthened their first choice. Presumably Chelsea don't want to play on Friday, understandably. Cue sulking in Salford.

If BBC had first pick, there would probably be less of an issue, as either would be the Sunday afternoon match.

This logic seems strange though - It's only couple of months since a Salford-ish football team were forced to play when the TV companies said. I wonder why it doesn't apply this time.

It makes a huge difference. It's literally all about the extra 24 hours rest on tired limbs.

If City and United can manage to play at home on the same day with the numbers GMP have, I'm sure Chelsea and Fulham can be managed by the Met police.

Yep you'd think so mate, remember our game in 89, the same day Utd had Forest at home in the fa cup & GMP coped alright, Fulham are "only" playing Charlton as well so not as if its Millwall.

Funny how the Met can cope with 2/3m people at the Notting Hill carnival as well yet not 40,000 at Chelsea & 10/15,000 at Fulham.

Regards our CL games & when the cup tie gets played, this season we had Spurs away sun 12.00 game & they'd been in Kazikstan or somewhere like that in the Europa & didnt get back until late friday & the PL/Sky made them play us sunday morning so as we all know they dont give a toss about our CL fixtures or us fans.
