Full strength with what we have available currently probably wouldn't be enough to beat Chelsea away. Its immaterial anyway because there is no way this game will be prioritised against a CL last 16 that we can actually win for once. Here is the reason why;
Getting to QF of CL - £6m in prize money.....Should we win that, the prize money is then another £7m for getting to the Semi
Getting through to next round of FA cup - Around £200,000 and winning it only gets you £1.8m
The Fa Cup is much more important to fans than clubs as unfortunate as that may be.
That alone is sufficient evidence to suggest that no risks will taken with the idea we may still get a positive result or go through in the 2nd leg.

Yeah u can see the reason we will prioritise the champions league it's just the thought of the cup final 4 days latter that worries me

I know but nothing we can do and Liverpool play the night after and as possible CL entry is reward for the winner they have to take it seriously so it should even out unless they get a great result away.

No FC Augsburg currently 14th in the Bundesliga! They have beaten a few decent sides though.

Hence we can write off the FACup, the only question is how weak a side are we prepared to put out against Chavs given the adverse PR for the club of a heavy defeat. Also could there be ramifications for playing a weak side something similar to Mick McCarthey's Wolves, who I believe we're fined for fielding an understrength side against the rags prior to a game against relegation rivals?

Yeah probably get a 20 point deducted even if we won

Concentrating on anything other than the league position would be complacent foolishness. We need to secure top 3 to make next season a success. I'd swap both domestic cups and a CL semi final for a guranteed CL spot for next season and the advantages it provides. Nothing is guaranteed the state this team is in at the moment.
