People are right that he was more shaky in the last 20 minutes.

But also remember that Mendy was on his side and Chelsea were attacking that side the whole time.

The fact that he looks so good with so few games is an encouraging sign.

I thought he was really good until he ran out of steam, but as posted in the post match thread, he has started Leicester, Leeds and tonight at home in the league this season. Maybe just coincidence but odd.

Hard to imagine he will have much bigger role next season lets give him one more season to decide on him.

Just cannot see him getting a run of 6-7 games in a row which would be needed for him to get into form.
He is not better than our other 3 main CB's and imo even Garcia would have been used more if he opted to stay last summer. With Garcia going and maybe Mendy too maybe that open up a couple more games for Ake unless we go and buy a proper LB which we should imo. And then Ake as LB idea is dead in the water.

Dont think Chelsea are worse off with having bench options like Zouma, Christensen who were much much cheaper than Ake.
