Back to Nathan Ake, we should be ok for maybe 2/3 wks if he’s out, and a return for the first leg against Madrid..

Laporte will have to fill the gap.

The disrespect for laporte is awful this is a guy who's had salah in his pocket at klanfield arguably our best defender and very good on the ball. Yes he lacks a bit of pace but do you really think pep will set us up so teams can exploit that?

The trick is to stop the supply first and if that fails make sure they don't spin in behind. Our fans worry to much our squad is unreal all very good players and know what they need to do as does our manager and coaching team.Laporte to mark Saka/Rodrygo and Bernardo to track back and give them a good boot occasionally to slow them down a bit.

A fully match sharp Laporte should be fine against most players - and sheffield united at wembley should be a decent tune up.
If we had to suffer an injury somewhere then defence is manageable with the quality on the bench.

Ake was been giving a right runaround first half last night too. Laporte is every bit as good a defender and has a better pass in him to boot. You Dutch by any chance? Your love for Ake matched only by your hatred for Aymeric. Strange take on things.Using Laporte would be suicide against Madrid and Arsenal. Saka and Rodrygo would have a field day with him, and fact is Ake can pocket them with ease. I would rather we played Bernado on the LCM, dropping into LB position. I am afraid the injury to Ake can really throw a spurner into our TREBLE pursuits.
