When we signed him from the mighty Bournemouth and after his first 12 months i was underwhelmed , now i wouldnt swap him for any defender in europe , "world class" is an over used phrase in modern day football , what i would say is there isnt a better defender out there at the moment and he would walk into any team in the world.

Most important thing for a defender is decision making, and Ake is so intelligent.

He knows when he can run, when to pass, how to match a forward for pace, executes an offside trap perfectly.
