6 | Nathan Ake - 2024/25

I said after the Villa game that Ake was going to start against Everton and I was sure that he was not fully fit, and apparently he went off injured again, honestly at this point can anyone still defend Pep over this bullshit ? can anyone still tell me it's better to play injured players than academy lads ? what the fuck kind of logic is this ?
It's the same vicious cycle with him and Stones this season and it'll be the same with Dias when he's fit enough to train.

It's been going on with so many players, like I said before if it was just him and Stones you can blame it on them being injury prone, but when it also happens with Dias, Akanji, Walker, Grealish, Doku... it's obvious they are being rushed back, Pep is the only one who deserves blame here due to his bizarre reluctance on using youth and refusing to give the senior players enough time to recover.

He moves like someone who is terrified of something in his leg going pop. He’s a good defender but we cannot put any trust in him. He (Stones too) should be considered a write-off by the management/board, when they’re considering where we need to strengthen in the summer.
Thought the same about his movement, there was one particular instance when he was sprinting and he made a great tackle (vs Calvert-Lewin I think) where it looked like he wasn’t moving freely at all.

Played very well though and such a good defender, brings a calmness and steadiness to the defence when he plays.

Couple of times when he was last man and ‘sprinting’ back I could hear his hamstrings tweaking. Ridiculous tactics with immobile defenders.
I hear that every time I watch him. Him chasing someone and only thing comes to mind is Hamstrings. He is quality but he needs some team which doesn’t play suicidal football something like slow league
