The issue though is that the games have increased since the last job Pep had at Bayern.

We also have to remember that Germany has no league cup, a winter break, fewer league teams which equals fewer games. Their FA cup also starts in August and is used as a warm up to the new season at the start as they are always drawn away at an amateur side to start.

Plus the champs league, world cup and euros have expanded, international friendlies have been replaced by more competitive nations league, the new club world cup, shorter seasons with less recovery due to covid and winter world cup.

Do you you think he doesnt know this after nine years ?

He says players play too many games. That didn't stop him playing three of our injury prone defence in a game he deemed unimportant, leading to them getting injured and then having to put out much weaker teams in the champs league and league.

He has his reasons for having a small squad , we are currently unlucky we have so many injuries at the same time and had to play players carrying injurys , when they are all back we will be fine again

I just worry we are stuck in a spiral though, with so few defenders we have to keep playing ones who maybe aren't fully fit and then we need to rush other backs, and they get injured again. With games increasing during this part of the season the only place we can rest them it seems is the FA cup vs Salford.

Having a small squad has served us well for nine years ! You cant have very good players warming the benches just in case
As I said, UCL has expanded, FCWC expanded, more Internationals, I think some players would be happy to sit on the bench, they're overworked.

Overtime, him and Stones have to go.

I Would just let their contracts expire, no need to sell, they can be backups while they are fit.

Its a shame, because he is by far better than Gvardiol as the LCB in a back 3 in terms of no nonsense defending.

Time to go

Been a solid player for us but simply can't stay fit and that's not gonna improve as he moves into his 30s.

He moves like someone who is terrified of something in his leg going pop. He’s a good defender but we cannot put any trust in him. He (Stones too) should be considered a write-off by the management/board, when they’re considering where we need to strengthen in the summer.

I said after the Villa game that Ake was going to start against Everton and I was sure that he was not fully fit, and apparently he went off injured again, honestly at this point can anyone still defend Pep over this bullshit ? can anyone still tell me it's better to play injured players than academy lads ? what the fuck kind of logic is this ?
