I just he hasn't poisoned the well with the rest of the team.
I couldn’t give a shit how much we sell him for , he won’t be setting foot at City again , we paid £60m for him on a 4/5 year contract -we’ve had two years out of him that equates to approx £25m in value , £25m is about right on the clubs books. Other clubs will also see why he’s left previous clubs , so that downgrades any potential transfer away from City. He’s one of those players who feels “misunderstood” and that it’s never his fault , good riddance, he had a face like a slapped arse anyway! We will be ripped off by the Germans yet again as they won't pay £61 million. If unhappy and unsettled by the domestic robbery, we should have done more to help him. I would have given him two weeks off and promise him first team action if/when he improves. Rest assured that Lewis, Ake &/or Laporte will lose form or collect injuries before long. We might need him in April/May when the big games occur. A rash decision from Pep taken with his heart rather than his head.
He's never been the best full back in the league, had a 4-5 month spell where he was offensively brilliant, but it masked he was god awful when defending, 4 seasons here and only been decent for 4/5 months of it, but as with all things in football in this country anyone who is offensively impressive gets hyped, reason why most player of the seasons are forwards or attacking midfielders. You guys watch Cancelo all the time so I don’t know what his form this season has been like but I’m still surprised you’d let him go on loan. He was the best full back in the league a year or two ago.
Regardless of the specifics, there's clearly been a disagreement between Pep and Cancelo that's resulted in Cancelo leaving. City are just briefing their side of it to Sam Lee, Jack Gaughan, David Ornstein, etc. before Cancelo's team get to the media first. Sad to see it end like this but it happens in any workplace. So what, people are just turning on him because of rumours, bm really showing themselves up today
If you want to bury your head in the sand and ignore reliable sources and sound logic that’s up to you. Maybe you will be right and considering he doesn’t read the forum I’m pretty sure it’s not going to affect him too negatively my opinion. I’m gonna believe what’s being said is true and therefore he has behaved like a knob and good riddance! So what, people are just turning on him because of rumours, bm really showing themselves up today
The fact the media only got light of the deal today indicates things did move quickly on this one.For this bayern deal to happen so fast it's clear he's been in discussions longer than just today. Hardly someone ready to fight for the team when one foot is out the door already
By cancelo? He wants to leave, agree stupid decisionAn injury to Aké and we’ll struggle.
Gomez is shit, Laporte is a centre back, and that’s all we have. On top of that we already have injury prone defenders, plus Cancelo is a decent attacking option.
Fucking stupid decision.
Not if he is being an arse it’s not. So what if we don’t win anything. Not the end of the world. I’d rather we took this stance with problematic players. He was shit anyway this season so wouldn’t have been any use if he had to play. I’d rather someone inferior giving everything than someone like him going through the motions which has been the case since he threw his dummy out at the World Cup. We can’t afford passengers at this level. An injury to Aké and we’ll struggle.

your treading on thin iceIt’s almost like we’re run by a load of know nothings!! If only we’d let blue moon posters run the club, we’d never lose again…….
It’s really not mate
Pretty much the same as my thoughts mate? Don't know what you're confused about? By 'toe the line' I mean not sulk at not being in the 11 or playing out of position etc and realising you are part of a team. The 90 minutes on a Saturday that we see are only a small part of that. I can imagine Pep being too intense for some multi-millionaire footballers that are used to being pandered to. They don't like being told they're not performing and need to up their game. Initially they may like that fire and passion and see it as refreshing but after a few seasons it starts wearing thin. May partly explain why he's only stayed in other management positions for 4 or 5 years too.Not a chance mate sadly , thankfully we’ve had two plus seasons out of him , and in the main he’s been good , but you can’t have a mard arse in the team , he will go for £25m tops , or just run his contract out on loan .
it has to be said with him bang on t and on form we had a unique attacking threat. We are pretty one dimensional this season, his form and attitude falling off the cliff is a big reason. We are a weaker attacking threat now, he does have exceptional technique but as an out an out defender of course he is limited.
He is a very average fullback when played as one outright
Makes absolutely no sense at all unless we have a replacement lined up!! Which I doubt.
