The best signing we could make would be Alfonso Davies from Bayern. Sure his contract has only a couple of years. Recently saw him linked with Madrid so he’s obviously considering his options. He’d be a phenomenal signing at LB for us.

Seriously?

Why would it not be serious? He's clearly a bad apple and has been since his first year here, if we were contemplating moving him on in January then a replacement should have been sourced, it hasnt been and leaves us going into the business end of the season with a fucking awful left back and a couple of centre halves that can do a job there

I suspect that 3 at the back isn't a bug that has come about because of not having the right FBs, but a feature that has contributed to Cancelo feeling alienated and pushed out.

It's probably a bit chicken and egg. Pep wouldn't have turned to Rico so heavily if he was getting the performances he wanted from his inverted fullback.

Cancelo has played 26 games this season though, more than almost everyone, it's only because he's been so bad that Pep's had to find an alternative in Aké.

We're not going to miss Cancelo, other than a physical body to play left back when we have no other left backs. He's flattered to deceive. I imagine he was never comfortable after the run-in last year - and to be fair to anyone, that'll fuck with your mind so certainly don't hold it against him.

If he's a bad apple in the dressing room it's best that he moves on. The rags did it with the show pony and they've obviously improved. Team spirit is so important in playing to your potential and the club is right to move him on. Pep knows best, he's been through this scenario many times and we need to trust him.
