If he's head and heart aren't in it, then its best he's out of the dressing room. I think he's a really temperamental character and we've done a lot to avoid them types of bad influences over the last few years. Rather we go with what we have...Cancelo has been letting us down in big games anyway.

Pep's never got rid of someone because they make mistakes in big games. If he did, Laporte wouldn't be here. Stones would have left 4 years ago. Jesus wouldn't have stayed until he chose to leave.

Pep has said repeatedly he hates "sad faces", he's said he almost sold Cancelo in his first season for sulking in training, he referred to him as "Mr Cancelo" on Friday and then implied he's the only person in the squad not happy for Aké doing well.

Are you really going to pretend this is about anything other than attitude?

Anyway as for cover.

Aké is looking good, the kid Gomez can play and develop. Pep's already playing 3 at the back in some games which is a formation we have tons of cover for.

And the new kid Perrone is left footed so maybe he's an option.

Pep's not going to cut his nose off to spite his face. He'd only sanction a move if he thought he could win all 3 tournaments with the squad he's got left.
Good post, this thread is a microcosm of the "matchday" thread, slagging Pep off, ridiculous, he knows how to manage a squad and if Cancelo was not putting 100% in and disrupting the morale then he's right to let him go.

Don't mind him wanting to leave, not going to start now slagging him off like some idiots, he's been a massive part of thr success the club has had recently. Won't miss his recent performances but will certainly give a good reception on any return to the etihad. Let's not become everything we hate the bindippers for yeh??

More concerned not bringing in a replacement

Would've liked for him to fight for his place but clearly he doesn't want to otherwise he wouldn't be leaving, hopefully Ake continues his good form.

No real issue with letting Cancelo go if he's become a disruptive influence, but not replacing him when we're already lacking a proper left-back is extremely stupid imo. Weakening the squad at such an important stage of the season defies logic.
Crazy not getting a replacement :( fighting on 3 fronts as well.

Let's hope the academy has a left sided Rico Lewis ha

So, Guerreiro for free in the summer?
Pedro Porro in now? Would he be able to play inverted on the left, or would Rico be able to?
