We are going to struggle to shift him. He has all the power here, we gave him a new contract and now he can turn around and stab us in the back by putting in half arsed performances and keeping clubs well away from him.

In hindsight it was crazy to do any deal without an obligation to buy. We'll be selling him for 20m in the summer or hell go on perpetual loan to Italy.

IMO nothing at all crazy about it as a loan without further obligation was necessary for expediency. A chance to move him out of the squad and showcase him in German football arose and we seized that opportunity.
If we hadn’t done then we’d have been stuck with him being grumpy in the EDS and the full weight of his wages until the end of this season.

If you think about it, a loan deal with an obligation to buy is effectively a sale, only a tad more complicated, and it requires all the negotiations that you’d expect to go with that.
Whereas a straight loan carries much less risk for the club making the loan so the negotiation can generally be concluded without all the mither.

Nowt more to it than that.

Why would he do that? This whole situation arose over his lack of playing time. He wants to play. He wont be happy just picking up a cheque.

i think there will be lots of interest, just whether our valuation is met. Another loan is more likely.

He's had some cracking moments for us in his time here but it looks like this attitude problem has become unmanageable.

It's a real shame - he's an imperfect player but he has quality and we've certainly been glad to have him on multiple occasions.

But no player is bigger than the team, and even our biggest stars are subject to Pep's team selection. The answer to being left out is to work harder in training and adapt to prove you can do what's needed of you. Not kicking off and acting moody and becoming a presence that everyone has to manage.

Don't understand the hate he is getting over here ,he was supposedly the best lb in the world just a few months back .Also,he has not said anything bad about Pep or the Club . I would have him over chilwell any day .

He was clearly a disruptive presence in the dressing room. Look at how good we've been since his departure. Clearly a gifted footballer but he downed tools when things were tough and walked away. That's why he'll never be well regarded like Stones or Ake who fought to be part of this team.
