You guys watch Cancelo all the time so I don’t know what his form this season has been like but I’m still surprised you’d let him go on loan. He was the best full back in the league a year or two ago.

Perfect inverted fullback. Great going forward but always dodgy defending.

Had a stellar season last years but has dropped off a cliff this year. His only decent games have been Utd and Southampton at home and the emergence of Lewis at right back and Ake at left back have seriously limited his appearances.

Apparently he had a proper hissy fit last week after not being selected to start against wolves

it's true, Pep does not fuck about and if a player over steps the mark or steps out of line he's GONE,
but also Cancelo was used as a cover in the left back slot ? not his normal role but was happy to play there,

Now here is the rub, how many times in the Big games did he get found wanting ? Salah and Liverpool had him in his pocket every time, the truth is simple he is not a left back and maybe just got sick of getting blamed for big losses because pep had no over choice at left back,

Laporte has had a face like a slapped arse for about two years so that wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.

He has but fair play to him carrying on through injury to help City win the league. He took a gamble with his World Cup hopes and possibly his career to play on when he needed surgery.

The most regrettable thing about him leaving is it’s happened so late in the transfer window….
However with Ake, Gomez and Laporte we should have sufficient cover.

Didn't Ederson start out as a natural left back before he was converted to goal keeper?

Start Eddie as left back and Ortega in goal.
